Finding Your Authenic Voice

Wow, it has been a while since I published a post, and there are a couple of reasons for that.

In December my family bought its first home. We had extremely limited resources and were not in a position to take on debt. So we started looking for houses we could make a cash offer on and renovate ourselves. and as my wife described it to our amazing realtor, Kelley, (Seriously, if you are in the Rochester area, she is just the cream of the crop!) “We are dumpster diving for a house, and the houses that we want are at the top of the dumpster!”. and we found it! and the work began the next day!

We tore it down to the studs, opened it up, and began steadily putting it back together with our own hands. 3 months later we settled into the first floor and we continue to renovate the second floor as time allows. Click Here to see some of this process. This was the primary reason for putting my business on the back burner, giving my family a home. Which is a noble enough reason, and yet, in the background, I also had a sense that I wasn’t hitting the mark with my business in the way I wanted to. Signing clients and generating traction wasn’t the issue. It was how I was conveying my message and my overall perception of my brand.

I was really excited about the work I was doing with my clients. My approach to graphic design, web design, business coaching, and marketing is to always search for, uncover, cultivate, and implement my client's authentic voice as a means for creating cohesion across their brand and buy-in from current and potential customers/visitors. In fact, I think that utilizing your authentic voice is the most important thing we can do today not only in a business where it establishes your representation and sets expectations for your customers but also as human beings. Knowing yourself is intrinsic to your own quality of life and the quality of life of those around you and creates the bedrock for you to lay the foundation of your further growth. And my brand just wasn’t describing with enough freedom and detail who I am, what I do, and how I go about it.

So during my time off while building a house, I also hit the drawing board and put myself through the same paces I put my clients through. When developing your authentic voice its is important to cultivate an unwavering sense of identity, Discover, understand, and excel at the work that is rooted in a sense of meaning, that thing that gets you all jazzed about starting your day, working with someone new, and making the world a better place, and then focus it into a long-term vision for the impact you will leave people with when your time is done.

For myself, I knew that helping people do this work, cultivate their authentic voice, then wrap it into print and digital assets, and send them on their way feeling empowered to start their own journey was what I wanted to build my brand around. So I simplified my digital presence drastically and today I am excited to share with you my updated website and brand experience. If you think I could be helpful to you in discovering your authentic voice and incorporating it into your brand please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a spectacular rest of your day!
